Optional Excursions

Our tours are carefully planned to offer you a comfortable balance of sightseeing, entertainment, and leisure time. Experience shows, however, that many travelers like to use their free time to make one or more additional excursions. The optional excursions we offer are listed alphabetically on the following pages along with approximate prices and times, as well as the cities from which they are operated. Detailed descriptions of the specific excursions for your tour will also be sent with your Trip Documents Packet.

Optionals must be booked with and paid to your tour manager in Europe.

Prices are in American Dollars and are based on payment with VISA, MASTERCARD, or DISCOVER (no other credit cards are accepted). Visa, MasterCard and Discover are the recommended form of payment to avoid carrying excessive cash and exchange rate fluctuations. When paying by credit card, you must be able to present the actual card to your tour manager.

Please Note: If you bring a DISCOVER card, be sure to also bring a VISA or MASTERCARD because, while Discover is accepted for optional excursion payments, it is not accepted for other payments in Europe. In those special circumstances where cash is the only available form of payment, the tour manager will provide a pricing chart based on the local currency. Cash payments during the tour must be in the local currency.

Please note that personal checks and traveler's checks are not accepted.

Prices featured below are subject to change. Current pricing will be provided with Final Documents.

Operation of all excursions is subject to sufficient participation, and some excursions are subject to favorable weather conditions. Your tour manager reserves the right to make changes to or cancel these excursions at his/her sole discretion.

Paris Dinner & Cabaret Show - 7:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. in Paris, US$175
If you've dreamed of indulging in the Parisian nightlife, this is your opportunity. 'Paradis Latin' nightclub will serve an included dinner with wine and champagne, then sit back and thrill at the colorful and spectacular show of dancing and singing by performers decked out in risque and beautiful costumes.

Paris Evening - 7:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. in Paris, US$70
Your French cuisine experience at a true Paris Bistro is accompanied by lively music. Dinner includes wine or another beverage, and features a tantalizing choice of French dishes including Escargots, Quiche Lorraine, Duck l'Orange, and more. After dinner, your return bus ride will provide lovely impressions of one of the world's most celebrated cities.

Rome Dinner - 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. in Rome, US$60
A meal of authentic Italian dishes will be served at a traditional restaurant in central Rome. Bevarages are included and you will have a choice of entrees. A roving musician plays romantic Italian tunes while you dine.

Seine River Cruise - 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Paris, US$20
Enjoy a ride on the Seine River, while feasting your eyes on landmarks such as Palais Royal, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower. This is a relaxing way to see the major sights in Paris.

Swiss Lake Boat Ride & Dinner - 2:00-2:45 p.m. (boat ride) & 6:30-9:00 p.m. (dinner) from Swiss Lake Region hotel, US$65
Board a steamer for a scenic cruise on Lake Lucerne, also known as Vierwaldstattersee which literally means "Lake of the Four Forest Cantons". The lake's complicated shape borders four of the 26 "Cantons" or states of Switzerland. Much of the
shoreline rises steeply into mountains up to 5000 feet above the lake. Following the cruise, enjoy a traditional Swiss dinner at a cozy family owned restaurant including cheese fondue and lake fish of the region (substitutions available upon request).

Swiss Mountain - 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. from Lucerne, US$45
Get ready for a breathtaking experience. Reach the summit of Mount Stanserhorn (elevation 6232 ft.) by both cogwheel rail and cable car. At the top, enjoy the panorama on the terrace of the mountain top restaurant, take a walk along the paths, and capture the magnificent vistas on film.

Tower of London & Thames Cruise - 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. in London, US$85
From your London hotel, board a coach to the imposing Tower of London. A guide will explain the dark history of this famous landmark. You'll also view the Crown Jewels before boarding a river boat to see the sites of London along the river Thames.

Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel - 1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in Rome US$65
At Vatican City see St. Peter's Cathedral and the Vatican Museums with commentary provided by a local guide. The Sistine Chapel, with frescoes of the Last Judgement and the magnificent frescoed ceiling by Michelangelo, will be one of the highlights of your Rome visit.
