Available before the Heart of Europe TourThe Apollo hotel Lelystad City Centre is conveniently located approximately one hour by train from Schiphol Airport. Direct trains are available throughout the day to and from the Amsterdam Airport and Amsterdam Central Station. Tickets cost 14.00 per person each direction. From the Lelystad train station the hotel is located only five minutes on foot or two minutes by taxi (approximately 5.00). Lelystad has a large pedestrianonly shopping district located directly outside the hotel.

HOLLAND EXTENSION - Schiphol Airport Hotel
Available before the Heart of Europe TourAnother option for a pre-tour stay is one of the airport area hotels with shuttle service to and from Schiphol Airport. This is a good option if you wish to have time to rest after your flight and before the start of the tour. This location is also convenient for more extensive sightseeing before the tour. The convenient rail system transports you directly from Schiphol Airport to the heart of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, or The Hague, all within 1½ hours. The airport is also the starting point of numerous half-day and full-day guided bus tours.

LONDON EXTENSION, WITH RAIL FROM PARIS - London Hotel
Available after the Heart of Europe TourWith Eurostar, the rail time between Paris and London is less than three hours, making it convenient to add a few nights in Britains exciting capital. London offers endless possibilities with diverse museums (from Madame Tussauds Wax Museum to the Crown Jewels at the Tower Castle), incredible shopping (Harrods and Regent Street) and so many great sights (Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and Hampton Court Gardens to name just a few). Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge are also easy to reach from London by rail or local bus tours. You can even purchase tickets at one of the half-price booths and take in a London show one evening.

PARIS EXTENSION - Tour Hotel
Available after the Heart of Europe TourTo allow more time for the Louvre Museum or some of the other incredible art museums, we recommend spending an additional night in Paris (Note: the Louvre is closed on Tuesdays and other museums in Paris are closed on Mondays). Or, perhaps you cannot resist the opportunity for a full day of shopping at the fashionable boutiques. The unique atmosphere of Montmartre and so many other attractions in and near Paris may also tempt you to linger in this international city.

Notes About the Extensions

Extensions must be booked when making reservations for your escorted tour.

Extensions are independent and unescorted, and all transfers are at your own expense unless specifically listed as an inclusion in the extension description.

Every effort will be made to reserve pre- and post-tour nights at our preferred extension hotels listed on these pages. Alternative accommodations may be made if space is not available. When this happens, any transfer required between hotels will be at your own expense.

If you have purchased the land & air-inclusive tour, Image Tours will adjust your air reservations to depart early or return later as required for your extension.

Extensions are subject to availability. If Image Tours is unable to secure space at our negotiated prices, you will have the option, within three days of notification, to authorize a price increase, cancel the extension, cancel the entire tour with full refund, or change the date.

Check-in and check-out times vary for each hotel and are subject to change. The most common times are 2:00 p.m. check-in and 11:00 a.m. for check-out.
