Day 1: Christchurch

On arrival into Christchurch, the Garden City, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Renowned for its profusion of elegant gardens, Christchurch was founded in 1850 as a model Church of England settlement and has retained a unique English flavor.

Day 2: Christchurch - Lake Ohau

Today we journey to Lake Tekapo and view the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd, made from locally gathered stone and oak. Continue to Mt Cook National Park, a World Heritage-listed area and home to Australasia's highest peak, Mt Cook. Continue to pretty Lake Ohau.

Day 3: Lake Ohau - Dunedin

This afternoon we arrive in Dunedin and enjoy a city sightseeing tour including a visit to the historic Olveston House. The city was first settled by the Scottish in 1848 and still retains a strong Scottish heritage, which is yours to discover. Tonight enjoy a Scottish evening and dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Dunedin - Te Anau

This morning we enjoy a guided visit of Larnach Castle. Depart Dunedin and cross the South Island to the lakeside settlement of Te Anau.

Day 5: Te Anau - Milford Sound - Queenstown

Today we journey to Milford Sound and board our Red Boat. Cruise the full length of this beautiful fiord, beneath waterfalls, cliffs, dense rain forest, mountains and famous Mitre Peak. Continue to Queenstown where tonight we cruise to the historic Walter Peak Sheep Station to enjoy a sumptuous carvery dinner.

Day 7: Queenstown - Haast

Today we travel towards the West Coast via the shores of lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Journey over the magnificent Southern Alps and through the spectacular Haast Pass, used by the Maori in on their search of Pounamu.

Day 8: Haast - Greymouth

Enjoy the incredible scenery as we travel along the West Coast, through a world of mountains, glaciers, limestone landscapes, tranquil lakes, raging rives and rare bird and plant life. Visit Hokitika, where there is an opportunity to see Jade being carved into jewelry.

Day 9: Greymouth - Christchurch

Journey north along the dramatic coastline to Punakaiki to view the fascinating Pancake rock formations and blow holes. Returning to Greymouth we visit Shantytown. This afternoon we board the award-winning TranzAlpine Train, voted one of the top rail journeys in the world.
